- Sunflowers need a lot of sun and water. Especially as a cut flower, they are particularly thirsty!
- Cut the stems diagonally before placing them in a vase.
- Remove the excess leaves from the stems.
- Place the sunflowers in a clean vase with lukewarm tap water.
- Keep the water clean by changing it daily.
- Disinfect the water with a splash of vinegar or lemon juice if needed.
- Pamper your sunflowers with an extra dose of flower food.
- Find a sunny spot for the sunflower bouquet - by the window, for example - but still make sure that the vase is not in full sunlight.
- Be sure to keep your sunflowers away from your fruit bowl.
